What are Cabin Kits?

Our cabin kits are actual custom-built full-log homes. These are not modular homes on a trailer or some low-quality tongue and groove poplar “log cabin”.  Ours are the real deal made only with solid, kiln-dried red pine logs. The same construction methods we use on our custom full-log homes are used on these kits.

What should you know before you purchase a kit?

You should know your local zoning restrictions. Some municipalities have size requirements that need to be met such as width, square foot, and height requirements. Some of these items can be overlooked if you are not connected to utilities and it’s not a permanent residence, but again please talk to your local or county zoning administrator before you make a purchase.

What is included with your purchase?

That depends on what options you purchase. These were designed for a homeowner to build themselves because the log is pre-cut, pre-drilled for electrical, and labeled for easy installation. You can purchase the option for one of our crews to install if you wish but prices vary depending on location.

These are (packages only) so you would be responsible for all permitting, site work, foundations, and finish materials. This can all be customized but the online pricing is specific to the base plans. Pricing can vary depending on economic conditions, time of the year, job site restrictions, and job site location.

Cabin Kit Considerations

Find your property

One large consideration is how accessible the project is for material delivery. Are you thinking off-the-grid cabin or connecting to utilities? Basement or no basement? These are things you should be thinking about before you purchase a property or cabin kit.

Choose your cabin size

These 2 cabin kit models can be adjusted from 400 sq/ft to 1950 sq/ft. There are also outdoor living options for covered porches as well to create even more living space. Really think about what you are using the cabin for and how many people will be there.

Getting ready for delivery

At this point, you will be getting the foundation ready whether it’s a basement, concrete slab, or piers. We can design the floor to accommodate any of these options but we need to know at the time of purchase. If you have a local contractor involved we should have his contact information. Planning is the key and that does fall into the homeowner’s responsibilities with our cabin kits, this is how we keep your total investment so reasonable.

How It Works

1. Select your cabin size

We offer 400 and 800-square-foot models. This is the main floor's square footage.

2. Select your options

You can add covered porches, onsite labor, and stain materials.

3. Final pricing

We will put together the final pricing for you so there are no surprises when you are ready to start your custom home package.

4. Deposit #1

Now that pricing is complete and you are ready to move forward there will be a deposit required to get your final plans completed so you can sign off. At this point, your log home would be ready for production.

5. Deposit #2

Your second payment will be required to start production of your custom log home kit. Please allow at least 8 weeks for production.

6. Almost ready!

We will contact you when we are getting close to the completion of production to see if you are ready to take delivery and to go over the details of delivery.

7. Ready for delivery - Final payment

Finally, when production is complete we will ask for the final payment to set up delivery of your materials to your job site.
